Can I lose all my money in a mutual fund? In a diversified fund, effectively no; you would need every holding to go to zero at once. You can lose a meaningful share of it in a bad year, and that is normal for equity. Can I stop a SIP? Yes, any time, without penalty, though exit loads may apply if you also redeem early.
Do I need a demat account? No. Units are held at the registrar in your name. Can I invest for a child? Yes, in the child's name with a guardian. Can NRIs invest? Yes, from most countries, with some fund houses restricting US and Canadian residents.
What happens if the platform shuts down? Your units stay with the registrar in your name and can be accessed through any other distributor or directly from the fund house. What does Crowwd charge me? Nothing directly; the fund house pays Crowwd a trail commission from the scheme's expense ratio for as long as you stay invested.
Your units outlive any app, including ours. They are held in your name.
Tracking your journey
Once you are invested, Crowwd's job is to keep you informed without keeping you anxious. A short daily note on WhatsApp covers only the funds you own: what moved, why, and whether it matters for your Hive. A monthly report shows where you stand, what each sleeve did, overlap between funds, gaps against your Hive, and what Crowwd earned. The shelf is re-scored on a fixed cycle, and when a fund stops earning its place you see the proposed change and the reason first. Reviews are a schedule, not a mood: most should end with nothing changed.
